New Means to Extinguish Chimney Fires
The Central Railway Signal Company, of 272 Center Street, Newton, Mass., has just brought out a new device known as the Chimney Fire Extinguishing Fusee.
It is made in the shape of a railway fusee signal with friction cap ignition, no matches being required. To use it one simply tears up the tape which exposes the scratching surface, twists off the cap, turns it around, and lightly scratches it on the primed edge of the fusee.
