New Fire Apparatus for Troy.
The Troy, N. Y., city council has favorably reported an ordinance authorizing the city to borrow $56,000 for improvements in the fire department. These will include a new hook and ladder truck, the construction of an underground fire alarm system, twenty-four new fire alarm boxes in North Troy, the addition of twenty boxes, a new automatic central office apparatus for the operation of the entire fire alarm system, including an automatic repeater for ten signal box circuits, two alarm circuits, with storage baHeries, a switchboard and new protector board, besides two horses and equipment, and the purchase of land in the eastern section of the city and the erection thereon of a new truck house.
