New Filtration Plant For Jefferson City

Construction has been started by the Capital City Water Company, of Jefferson City, Mo., on a new filtration plant for the water works which with additions to the plant will cost in the neighborhood of $125,000. The building was designed by the J. N. Chester Engineers, Pittsburgh, Pa. Part of the plant will be three stories high, 58 feet by 53 feet. It will be constructed of reinforced concrete brick with a slate roof. Its capacity will be 3,000,000 gallons of water per day, consisting of six filter units so located as to accommodate an additional 3,000,000 capacity.

The first floor plan of the building consists of a tile corridor, office, laboratory, locker room, showers and large filter room. The filter room will be 35 feet 9 inches by 49 feet 6 inches.
