New Emergency Car at Mt. Vernon
The most modern conception of the service to be rendered by a progressive Fire Department guided Commissioner William A. Hallahan and Chief John Gibson in designing the Emergency Car, which was placed in service at Mount Vernon, N. Y., on April 15.
The apparatus, which was built by the Ahrens-Fox Fire Engine Company, is to be permanently located at the quarters of Engine 4, on Sixth Avenue, and will respond to all box alarms and to special signals.
