NEW ORLEANS FIRE DEPARTMENT ANNIVERSARY.
March 4 was the forty-sixth anniversary of the New Orleans Volunteer Fire Department. The streets were crowded early with a concourse of people, many of whom were visitors especially to see the Firemen's parade. Punctually, at the appointed hour, the procession moved from Canal street, parading through the following streets: Rampart to northside of Esplanade to Royal, down Royal to Mandeville, up Mandeville to Levee, up Levee to southside of Esplanade, Esplanade to Royal, up Royal to Canal, to Camp to Prytania, up Prytania to First, up First to Magazine, down Magazine to Julia, down Juiia to St. Charles, down St. Charles to Canal, where the procession was dismissed.
