Miami Fire School Trains Cubans
Anyone attending the Miami, Fla., Fire College was apt to hear some strange sounds coming from the classrooms. Of course, to those who understand Spanish, they were not strange because they were coming from Spanish speaking firemen.
In April, Fire Chief N. L. Wheeler received, what might appear to some, to be a strange request. The Public Safety Department of Havana, Cuba, wanted a training course to be given some of its men and wrote to Chief Wheeler asking if it would be possible for his training staff to help them with the problem.
