在威奇托火McGaughey死亡
The collapse of a roof took the lives of Chief T. A. McGaughey and three fire fighters during a two-alarm fire that destroyed an auto agency at Wichita, Kan. Two other firemen trapped by the collapse were rescued.
Shortly after the arrival of the first apparatus, Chief McGaughey led the men into the building apparently to cut a hole in the ceiling to reach the fire overhead. Steel girders that failed in the heat led to the roof collapse that cut off Chief McGaughey and his men from their only means of escape, a large overhead door they had entered.
