Another plan proposes to turn the beautiful lakes of Cumberland and Westmoreland into reservoirs, and conduct water thenco to London. The distance in this case would be 240 miles, and the cost al>out $07,500,000. Another plan proposes to take water from near the sourco of the Thames, and this wouli involve an outlay of some $85,000,000.
