Keep the Machinery Polished.
Firemen naturally take great pride in the appearance of the apparatus with which they are identified, and delight in seeing all the bright work carefully cleaned and polished. A means whereby this brightness and general appearance of newness is secured in many Departments is by the use of A. H. Downer’s cleaning and polishing oil, which has been in use with the greatest satisfaction lor several years. It is free from all gritty substances, may be used on the most highly polished surfaces without danger of injuring them, and is a great saving of labor, as the oil polishes quickly, producing a lustre which is lasting. Its efficacy is testified to by numerous Chief Engineers, Master Mechanics, and Steamship Stewards. Mr. Downer also manufactures a fine article of lubricating oil, which is highly commended.
