Kansas City Fire Ordinance.
Using as an object lesson the fire at Loretto Academy, where three young girls were fatally burned while taking part in an amateur performance, an ordinance has been introduced in the upper house of the Kansas City, Mo., council providing that amateur performances, operatic or spectacular, given in school buildings, churches or public balls shall be under supervision of the fire warden. There, also, shall he in attendance an experienced fireman with a fire extinguisher. charge of $2.50 is to be made for such services, and violators of the ordinance on conviction in the municipal court shall be fined not less than $10 nor more than $50.
