January Fire Losses
Estimated dollar losses caused by the fires in the United States totaled $139,331,000 in January, the National Board of Fire Underwriters reported. This was a decrease of 1.9 per cent under $141,996,000 for January 1963, and an increase of 23.2 per cent over $113,116,000 for December 1963.
Estimated fire losses include an allowance for uninsured and unreported losses.
