Iowa Water May be Centuries Old

It is probable that the drinking water from the Iowa state artesian wells may be centuries old, that is, the people today may be drinking the rain which fell about the time that Columbus was piloting his craft toward America. This statement was made by Prof. A. O. Thomas of the geology department of the University of Iowa.

“That means," said Prof. Thomas, “that when a loyal citizen of Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, Des Moines, Davenport, Mason City or Manchester turns the faucet they are apt to have a glass of water that fell among the Redskins three to four hundred years ago. But it is safe to drink for it has been filtered more than two hundred miles.”
