Better Supervision of Two Per Cent. Tax Distribution Urged—Favor Re-establishing the State Fire Marshal’s Office—Good Attendance
PROPOSED legislation affecting the distribution of the two per cent, insurance tax brought forth some unusually interesting discussion at the seventeenth annual convention of the New York State Fire Chiefs’ Association, held at Buffalo, June 12-13. And with the presentation of several instructive papers on various fire fighting matters, the meeting, which was held in conjunction with the New York State Conference of Mayors and other City Officials, went on record as one of the best the association has had in many years. The International Association of Police Chiefs was in session at the same time and an elaborate program of entertainment w a s provided for all the visitors.
