The Firefighters Support Foundation’s (FSF) newest training program is now available.Mayday Basic Conceptsaddress the various response strategies available to a firefighter that finds them self in aMaydaysituation. This is an introductory course, designed as a resource for annual review of this critical subject. Its focus is on choosing an appropriate course of action once aMaydayhas been called. The program consists of a 25-minute video presentation and an accompanying 30-slide PowerPoint.
Covered topics include:
- What is aMayday?
- When should one be called?
- Who can call one?
- What happens after one is called?
- Waiting for help tactics, self-rescue options, and personal preparedness for aMayday.
The presenter is Eric Stroud of Fire & Rescue Concepts.
The program is free to all members of public safety and emergency management agencies.
