Firemen May Claim Compensation
According to a ruling handed down by the California Industrial Commission, a fireman injured in line of duty may claim compensation in addition to whatever pension benefits are provided.
的case was brought up by an Alameda, Cal., fireman who was injured while fighting a roof blaze. Upon becoming incapacitated he applied for compensation but instead was granted a pension allowance during his enforced absence from duty. A renewed demand for compensation was rejected on the ground that the pension allowance was inclusive.
