Firebug Gets Life Sentence
Detroit's most notorious firebug has been sentenced to life imprisonment as a fourth-time arson offender. Under the state law of Michigan, when the record of prisoner shows four convictions and is brought to the attention of the jury, it is mandatory that the offender receive a life sentence.
This firebug is said to have set 201 fires and caused huge losses to insurance companies. He escaped one sentence when the judge before whom he had been found guilty died before the date set when sentence was to be pronounced.
