Seven hydrant streams were thrown on the fire from 1⅞-⅛⅛ nozzles. Seven 6-inch double hydrants were available, 150 feet separating them. The pressure at these was from 60 to 90 pounds. The water mains nearby were six and ten inches in size; 2,800 feet of cotton rubber-lined hose were used, none bursting. The buildings in the Syndicate Block were valued at $170,000, and their contents, consisting of dry goods and furniture, at $100,000.
