If He Accepts, Will Appoint Fire Chief —Otherwise, Chief Will Be Appointed After City Commission Election
消防专员一职Newark, N. J., has been offered by Safety Director Brennan to Ex-Chief Paul J. Moore. The position of fire chief of Newark has been vacant ever since Chief Moore retired under pension on June 1, 1924, and the two deputy chiefs, John J. Towey and Matthew P. A. McDermott, have been alternating as acting chiefs. If Chief Moore accepts the appointment as fire commissioner. Director Brennan will allow him to make the appointment of the new chief. If, on the other hand, the appointment is declined, the director will not appoint a chief until after the City Commission election on May 12.
