Allentown, Pa., has installed a chlorine plant. A liquid chlorine plant is being installed at the Athens, Ga., water works. Additional filters are also being installed.
Following are the results of a recent analysis of the water in the city wells of Galesburg, Ill. (figures are parts per million): Turbidity, 10; color, 25; residue on evaporation, 1,072; chlorines in chlorides, 88; oxygen consumed, 2.5; free ammonian, .096; albuminoid ammonia, 144; nitrites, .003; nitrates, .72; alkalinity, 370.
