FEED PUMPS OR INJECTORS.

FEED PUMPS OR INJECTORS.

AT the annual convention of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, held in this city last week, many important engineering matters were presented, but the only ones directly pertinent to our columns were Mr. Cowle’s paper on “Fire Boats,” published in our issue of last week, and the discussion of topic No. 29, “Which Do You Prefer, a Feed Pump or an Injector?”

In reply to the question, Alfred R. Wolff, consulting engineer of this city, stated that, as far as his experience was concerned, it enabled him to answer the question definitely by the one word "both.” George H. Babcock, of the Babcock & Wilcox Company, of this city, begged to add two words to Mr. Wolff’s reply, viz., “that depends.”
