One Hundred Persons Forced to Flee Burning Structure; Police Communications System Knocked Out by Blaze
AT least one man was killed, several persons were overcome by smoke and approximately $500,000 in damage was caused by a fire which swept through the Empire Hotel, a ninety-seven-yearold landmark in Syracuse, New York, shortly before midnight on December 30.
