Eastman Deluge Sets Are Popular
High pressure service is fast extending and the handling of the powerful streams it produces has shown that the old method cannot be considered when handling streams of this character, the firemen not only being unable to control the streams, but putting them in great danger of serious or fatal accident by the liability of the stream getting away. The Eastman new high pressure outfits and platforms have proved to be the most practical means for handling large, powerful streams easily and safely under any pressure that may be applied. They are in service in many of the best departments in the country, and in some cases where as high as 500 pounds pressure to the square inch is used, and in no instance have they failed to give the best of satisfaction, the streams being easily directed to any point desired, even on icy streets or slippery asphalt paving. These outfits are now also being very successfully used in connection with the well-known Eastman deluge sets, for which there is an increasing demand, as shown by the fact that the sales to October 1, 1912, were greater than the total for 1911. Recent sales have been made to the following cities, many of them being duplicate orders: Scranton, Pa.; Columbus, O.; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Galveston, Tex.; Flint, Mich.; Norfolk, Va.; Portland, Ore.; Little Palis, N. Y.; Iowa City, Ia.; Dubuque, Ia.; Raleigh, N. C.; Kerona, Sask., and many others.
