East Youngstown Water Supply Contract.

East Youngstown, Ohio, has closed a contract with the Mahoning Valley Water Company to supply it with water for a term of thirty-six years. The company will receive $40 per year for each of 25 fire plugs, which it is to install at its own expense at points designated by the village authorities, and for each additional plug $35. The company is to receive for all water taken by the village for the purpose of street sprinkling or street flushing and for the purpose of supplying its standpipes or reservoirs as well, as for all purposes other than extinguishing fires or sup plying school houses, 8 cents per thousand gallons for the first 200,000 gallons taken each year: above this, up to 300,000, 0 cents a thousand, and beyond this 5 cents a thousand, payments to be made quarterly. The village reserves the right to put in a reservoir or standpipe for the purpose of supplying water to sections which cannot lie supplied by the company and to connect the standpipe or reservoir with the mains of the company. The water company agrees to furnish, free of charge to the village, not exceeding 500,000 gallons per year for the sc(iooI houses located in the village, which can be supplied cither from the pressure of the company or from reservoirs of the village. The company will furnish all meters to measure the water it supplies.
