A fire that engulfed four buildings in Marlinton rekindled on Monday, finishing off what was left of the downtown city block, reports The Charleston Gazette (http://bit.ly/17mQZTa).
The fire first began around 2:30 a.m. Sunday and is expected to continue at least three or four more days, a Marlinton Volunteer Fire Department dispatcher said. Firefighters were on the scene Monday trying to prevent the fire from spreading.
The Pocahontas Times reported that the burned buildings housed apartments, a Nationwide Insurance office, a salon, offices, an arts and crafts store and Dirtbean Ohana, a cafe and bike shop.
No one was seriously hurt in the fire, but one firefighter was sent to a hospital with minor injuries. The firefighter was released on Monday, the dispatcher said.
