Eber R. Dyer, superintendent of the water works at Portland, Me., died at his home in that city on November 8 after an illness of several weeks’ duration. Mr. Dyer began his service with the Portland Water Company years ago and, as a local paper said: "Mr. Dyer’s death is a great loss to the Portland Water District, which had profited to such a large degree by reason of his thorough knowledge of all departments of the service and his rare ability as a planner and supervisor of construction." Superintendent Dyer was a member of the American Water Works Association and of the New England Water Works Association and was a regular attendant at the conventions.
