Death of Mrs. Walter H. Van Winkle
Mrs. Van Winkle, wife of Walter H. Van Winkle, president of The Water Works Equipment Company of New York, died at her home on Summer avenue, Newark, on Wednesday, August 14, after most painful illness. The deceased lady was a great favorite with those who attended the annual meetings of The American and New England Water Works Associations, and her untimely death will cause a great loss to them, as well as a large circle of friends and associates in the many organizations of which she was a member.
The recent burning of the Raftsman Water Company’s pumping station at Curwensville, Pa., has caused the superintendent, G. S. Benner, to issue a warning against any avoidable use of water, such as for sprinkling streets, washing automobiles and sidewalks.
