DEATH OF COL. LAING.

DEATH OF COL. LAING.

We regret to announce the death of Colonel W. H. Laing, which occurred at Racine, Wis., on the 5th instant. He had been ailing for some time with a nervous diseuse, which ended fatally on Monday last.

Colonel Laing, was one of the best known waterworks men in the country and, as superintendent of the Racine plant, was successful in keeping it in the very highest state of efficiency. He was a familiar figure at all the annual meetings of the American Water works association, and he filled many important places in that organization, being a vice-president and member of the finance committee.
