The testing of the various apparatus took place Wednesday before the committee of exhibits, and several hundred citizens. The American Ball Nozzle gave an interesting test, as did the Loeb Respirator Co., in a shanty erected for the purpose. A genuine New England clam bake was given by the citizens to the delegates, at Roton Point, president AV. C. Smith of New Haven,president of Connecticut State Fire Association. In the absence of Governor Coffin of Connecticut. Senator Ferris presided. There werepresent the Mayors of South Norwalk and Norwalk, also Chief Fiske of Mount Vernon; Assisiant Chief, W. Jewell and Assistant Chief Ashley of Newark, N. J.
