COLONEL FRANCIS G. WARD.

COLONEL FRANCIS G. WARD.

The citizens of Buffalo, N. Y., have shown, not only their good sense, but, also, their approedition of the services which Colonel Francis G. Ward has rendered to the city as its commissioner of public works, by re-electing him to the same office. His plurality of 6,500 over his opponent is sufficient evidence 9f the esteem in which he is held by his fellow-citizens as a man of sterling integrity united to a thorough working knowledge of the duties of his office. Buffalo is under peculiar obligations to Colonel Ward for the energy he has displayed and the skill he has evinced in the line of procuring for the city an up-to-date waterworks system, which, when completed. will be a model for other cities to follow.
