Chief Walden, Columbia, Mo., Given New Car
The city council of Columbia, Mo., recently presented Chief Thomas M. Walden of the fire department of that city a new Flint Six chief’s car. The car is equipped with two hand extinguishers, a smoke helmet and other auxiliaries found on the usual chief’s car.
Besides this car, Columbia recently purchased a new pumper and had a hose car converted into a city service truck with ladders, etc. Besides the state university there are two girls’ colleges located in the city and the new apparatus is needed for extra fire protection.
