Fire caused by an exploding lamp in the naphtha launch Sheridan, owned by Mr Dorman, of 44 Beekman street. Manhattan, caused damage of $1,000. Insured. The launch was lying up on the beach at the foot of Forty-sixth street when the blaze was discovered by a watchman last Saturday.

A fire started from some unknown cause late Saturday night in the two-story bonded warehouse at the southeast corner of Water and Clinton streets. Manhattan, owned by Elliott F. Briggs A Co., and stocked with general merchandise. The fire was in some bagging and sacks of coffee on t he first, floor, ami the firemen confined the flames to that floor after an hour’s hard and unpleasantly chokey work. The damage is estimated at $6 000.
