Chief Harrison, Onset, Dead
Chief Frank R. F. Harrison, of Onset, Mass., after a long illness, died on August 4. He took part in the battle with the Great Boston Fire of 1872 as a member of a New Bedford engine company which answered the call for outside aid.
He was 82 years of age and had made many improvements in the Onset Fire Department during the long period that he served as Chief. He was a member of the New England Association of Fire Chiefs and of the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
