CHEMICAL ENGINES AND TANKS

Principal Use Found in Motor Combination Chemical and Hose Trucks Also in Hand-Drawn Chemical Carts—Various Forms of Hand Extinguishers Stationary Chemical Fire Extinguishers

THE chief use of chemical tanks for fire extinguishing in fire departments at the present time is in connection with motor combination chemical and hose trucks, triple combination and straight chemical trucks, there being but few hand-drawn chemical tanks employed. The variety of chemical tanks for these uses is large but the differences between the various types are not great. For instance, some are made with low domes, permitting them to be fitted under the driver’s seat, while others have high domes with loose-stopper design of mechanism. No radical departure from the present style of chemical tank is anticipated.
