Boston Regulates Use of Flammable Decorations

The Boston Fire Department, through its Fire Prevention Division, has published a document covering the "Terms and Conditions Promulgated by the Head of the Fire Department Governing the Use of Inflammable Decorations in Public Buildings, Places of Assembly and in Stores."

The terms and conditions establish authority in the fire department to regulate the use of fabrics, plastic coated fabrics, unbacked plastic sheeting, artificial leather of any type, lacquered leather, or "other decorative material for decorations in public buildings, places of assembly, and in stores within the City of Boston, until a sample thereof has been submitted, tested and approved in accordance with the Boston Fire Department’s Terms and Conditions applicable to the use of inflammable decorations.”
