Blackhawk Fire Fighters Association Meets

The annual meeting of the Blackhawk Fire Fighters Association was held at Polo, Ill., as customary for the past decade. That community was the birthplace of the organization, which comprises counties of Lee, Carroll, Whiteside, Ogle, Bureau, Stephenson and Winnebago in western Illinois. The Association members include paid, part paid and volunteer departments, together with a number of industrial fire brigades.

Since its founding, the Association has attracted wide acclaim, its meetings being attended not only by fire chiefs and firemen, but mayors and other civic officials, as well as plant and safety men. Heavy emphasis has been placed during recent months upon development of mutual aid, including such details as preparing inventories of apparatus and equipment, communications and training.
