Annual Meeting of the New Jersey State Fire Chiefs.

The New Jersey State Fire Chiefs held their annual meeting in Atlantic City on September 11, 1908. After the regular routine of business the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, C. S. Allen, of Trenton; vice-president. D. J. O'Neil; secretary, C. S. Mount; treasurer, T. O. Doane. Trustees, Wm. Astley. Newark, and Geo. W. Arnett, Lambertville; entertainment committee, Wm. J. Black, August Gerstung and Chas. Becher. The principal features of the meeting were the discussions on tinreport of the executive committee of the State Firemen's Relief association. Chief Astley thought 1 hat. as the association was so closely allied to T he State association, it would he well to have it adopt the report of the executive committee as approved. A motion was made to that effect. Remarks were then made bv Chiefs Benedict, Stagg, Doane, Black, Allen and others, in which the subject was thoroughly discussed and explained to the satisfaction of all the chiefs present. Remarks were also made by Frank S. Hilliard, Vincentown, a delegate to the State association, approving the report, and he expressed himself as being very glad to hear the remarks and discussions. A motion was made by Chief Astley and seconded by Chief Stagg that it was the consensus of the association that the report of the executive committee of the State association as approved he adopted. The motion carried unanimously.
