American Trucks in Army Work
The address delivered by LieutcnantColonel Barrett Andrews, U. S. A., Motor Transport Division, at the recent truck owners’ conference at Detroit, on the subject, “How Uncle Sam Uses His Motor Trucks,” contained some interesting facts regarding the efficient methods used by the Army Truck Transport Division. He gave the number of vehicles used by our first American field army as follows: 40,000 trucks, 7,900 passenger cars, 24,250 motorcycles, and 6,500 ambulances. The vehicles alone require the entire attention of 154,000 men.
