Additional Water Supply for Hamilton

At least three new wells are to be driven this coming summer by the Hamilton, O., water department, according to Superintendent Nelson, who believes the city needs them at once. In recent summers, Superintendent Nelson has for some time been invvestigating the twentytwo wells which supply the city water. Tests showed that but six are yielding a steady flow. Some work only at times while others are useless. Some manufacturing concerns have recently driven wells much deeper than the city wells in the same vicinity and since then the supply of water has diminished and it is feared water shortage may occur unless new walls are driven by July or August. The city’s wells are for the most part only 50 and 60 feet deep. It is planned to drive the new wells to a depth of 150 to 160 feet. Their cost is estimated at from $500 to $600 for each
