Two people were killed in a house fire early Sunday inAtlantic County, authorities said.
Patrol officers and fire crews rushed to the blaze in Mullica Township on the 1500 block of Hamburg Avenue, where responders found the residence “fully engulfed” in flames, according to police.
Three occupants escaped the burning home without injuries, police said.
“Sadly, two occupants were unable to escape and perished in the blaze,”Mullica Township policesaid in a statement.
Mullica Township police detectives, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office and state fire officials were investigating the blaze, according to the statement. Additional details were not released, including the names of the people who died.
Officials did not immediately return messages seeking more information on Monday.
