An MBTA train caught fire Wednesday and 200 passengers had to be evacuated.
The MBTA Commuter Rail Twitter account said that at around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday a fire was reported while the train was stopped at West Concord Station.
“All 200 passengers on board were safely evacuated and have been accommodated on Train 427,” the MBTA tweeted.
The fire was caused by a build-up of dry leaves on the track, the tweet stated.
The local fire department responded and the fire was extinguished. There were no injuries and the normal train service resumed on the Fitchburg Line.
