Three Firefighters Injured at CA House Fire

Three firefighters were injured during a house fire yesterday in the Arleta district of Los Angeles, California.

The Contra Costa Timesreports (http://bit.ly/U4wKkQ) that one firefighter through the weakened eaves of the house, striking a colleague in the head. Both men were sent sprawling onto a pile of debris in the yard. They were hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries.

A third firefighter suffered a glancing blow as the other two members fell. He was treated at the scene.

A resident was reportedly using a grill in a small tent or tarp structure adjoining the house. Fire engulfed this structure and extended to the house, destroying it.
