Suspect Arrested in Connection With San Jose Car Fire

A suspect has been arrested in connection with one of the deliberately set car fires that have been set recently in San Jose and Campbell, reports CBS San Francisco (http://cbsloc.al/1xBzCwS)

There have been eight car fires set over the past two weeks, most occurring on the 1500 block of South Bascom Avenue. The San Jose Fire Department said the suspect was arrested on Tuesday night after allegedly setting a fire.

“The San Jose Fire Department Arson Investigation Team has been actively investigating these car fires and monitoring that area,” said Capt. Christopher Salcido with the San Jose Fire Department. “While one of the fire engines was putting out the car fire, there was a person that was seen running away. That person was later detained, questioned and arrested for direct involvement to one of those car fires.”

Salcido said it is not yet known if the suspect is responsible for the other car fires as well.
