Feb. 13—RICE LAKE — A Rice Lake fire on Friday caused around $150,000 in damage to a house.No one was injured, the Rice Lake Fire Department said in a news release.
The fire department responded to a structure fire in the 600 block of Phipps Avenue in the city of Rice Lake at about 10:47 a.m. Friday morning. Crews found a “heavy fire” at the rear of a house; they used firefighting foam to contain the fire to the back porch and kitchen area. The rest of the house underwent major smoke and water damage, the department said.
The fire was under control at 11:37 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, the department said. No first responders or members of the public were injured.
Eleven Rice Lake firefighters and two engines, one aerial unit, one command truck and one utility vehicle responded to the blaze. Marshfield Medical Center provided a paramedic unit for standby at the scene. The Rice Lake Police Department and Rice Lake Street Department also responded.
