Plumcreek Township (PA) — A man died in a house fire after he had initially escaped, but went back into the home to save his dogs early Wednesday morning, state police said.
The fire on Village Road in Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County, was reported shortly before 2 a.m. Flames were so intense that firefighters came from Indiana County to assist.
The victim was identified as 43-year-old Terry Verner; his cousin was able to escape the fire.
