Oregon Firefighters Rescue Three from Accident

Firefighters rescued three people and a dog after two vehicles collided on Highway 101 at Cape Foulweather on Friday. One of the vehicles went down an embankment, reports katu.com.

The call for help came in at about 3:45 p.m.

Firefighters used ladders and ropes to get to the victims in the car 30 feet down the embankment. They used the Jaws of Life to cut the victims out of the car and then firefighters hoisted them up the bank.

The three people were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, firefighters said.

Firefighters also rescued a large dog stuck under the passenger seat of the other car up the road.

“A large breed dog was wedged under the passenger seat of a vehicle. The dog’s head was in the front foot area, and the rear paws were in the back,” said Depoe Bay Fire District Chief Joshua Williams. “The entire length of the dog was trapped under the seat and unable to be freed.”
