Oregon Firefighters Extinguish Barn Fire

Firefighters from Marion County (OR) Fire District #1 encountered exploding gas cylinders at the scene of a barn fire Wednesday evening.

According to a report from theAlbany Tribune(http://bit.ly/H6sAtR), first-arriving units found a fully involved barn fire located next to several other structures, including an occupied residence. Several explosions of compressed gas cylinders were observed before firefighter began a defensive fire attack on the building and quickly contained the fire to the building of origin.

The residence was evacuated and did not suffer any damage. Water tenders were used for water supply due to the lack of hydrants in the area.
