Scappoose (OR) — One person is dead following a mobile home fire, officials confirmed.
Emergency dispatchers said Scappoose Rural Fire District was dispatched at 1:52 a.m. to the scene near Teakwood Drive and East Columbia Avenue.
A law enforcement officer told KOIN 6 News one person was found dead inside the single-wide trailer.
It appears, firefighters said, the person inside the trailer also started the fire. It remains unknown why the person started the fire, and why they did not come out when a police officer arrived.
