New Orleans Woman Dies in House Fire

A 28-year-old New Orleans woman died after firefighters found her Saturday morning in a burning house in Central City, reports nola.com (http://bit.ly/1D1lG2I)

女人的名字不是en released, was found upstairs in a shotgun double at 2403 South Saratoga St., said Capt. Edwin Holmes of the New Orleans Fire Department.

People who reported the fire about 9:35 a.m. said someone was inside the home, Holmes said. The firefighters arrived to find smoke billowing from the structure and flames coming out of the windows and doors.

A man told firefighters he leaped from a second-floor window. But his girlfriend was too frightened to follow him and was still inside, Holmes said.

A second alarm was struck, and firefighters began suppressing the fire while simultaneously searching for the woman. They found her unresponsive and unconscious, just outside a bedroom, Holmes said.

New Orleans EMS took the woman to a hospital, where she died. Holmes said the fire caused the woman’s death. Her boyfriend was admitted to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
