Three firefighters were injured and eight people are homeless after a fire early Tuesday, reports foxct.com (http://bit.ly/1V8wSpk)
The second alarm fire was called in at 1:30 a.m.at 504 East Main St.. The fire significantly damaged the second floor and the first floor had moderate damage. Residents made it out safely, but eight were displaced.
One firefighter was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for burns. He was treated and released. Another firefighter was burned but treated at the scene. And a third was treated for an elbow injury.
The Red Cross is assisting the displaced families.
