OAKLAND (ME) — A local man died Sunday after he was rescued from his burning mobile home on Ten Lots Road, police said.
Donald Shores Jr., 49, died after he was brought to the hospital, Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said Monday. An autopsy was being performed to determine the cause of death, McCausland said.
Firefighters were still at the scene several hours after fire heavily damaged a mobile home at 146 Ten Lots Road in Oakland on Sunday.
The fire at 146 Ten Lots Road is under investigation, and investigators “do have some questions” about what happened, McCausland added.
The fire was reported around noon Sunday and caused extensive damage to the inside of the house, according to Oaklan d Fire Department Captain David Groder.
